The Hicks 12-25 was a tracklayer but used oversized steering wheels to guide the machine. It could be operated with reins, just like a team. The 12-25 must have been a real delight at repair time with all of its mechanisms. It is hard to imagine the jolts and bumps provided free of charge by the steel seat mounded on the end of a spring steel bar.
Hicks Tractor Company was incorporated in Minneapolis on July 29, 1916. By late 1917 the company was located in Harvey, Illinois and a year later showed up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
